Scottsdale Ranked "Best Place in America to Find a Job" For Second Consecutive Year

Scottsdale, AZ (January 5, 2020) - - For the second consecutive year WalletHub has named the City of Scottsdale as best place in America to find a job. The comprehensive study compared more than 180 US cities across 31 key indicators of job market strength. Job opportunities, monthly average salary, unemployment rate and housing affordability are just a few of the metrics utilized in developing the 2020 list where Scottsdale came out on top.

"Scottsdale remains committed to attracting and retaining the best of the best employers and employees and receiving this ranking and recognition two years in a row reaffirms Scottsdale’s position as a top location of choice for those looking to advance their career or grow their business," says Rob Millar, Director of Economic Development.

Last year, Scottsdale’s economic development department launched Scottsdale.Jobs, a dedicated job board for employers to post open positions in the ever-growing business community. That same job board is being used by top talent looking for a great company to grow their career. The job board has been steadily growing and frequently has more than 350 unique jobs posted on any given day. In addition, there were more than 6,400 unique job views during the fiscal year.

Scottsdale is home to more than 25,000 businesses with nearly 20 percent of Arizona corporate headquarters calling the city home. More than 90 percent of Scottsdale’s software companies are growing with a 10 percent employment growth forecast over the next five years. Other leading growth industries include technology, finance and insurance, real estate, health care and social services, and accommodation and food services. "Technology and associated high demand employment positions continue to drive business decisions in nearly every industry. Healthcare advances are driving talent demands to double-digit levels and we are more of a world economy than ever before. Our economy is ever-changing and accolades such as this one proves we are striving to remain a world-class community for generations to come" says Rob Millar.
