Scottsdale earns two awards of merit for economic development efforts

 


Scottsdale, Ariz. (Nov. 28, 2017) – Two Golden Prospector awards were received by the Scottsdale economic development department at the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) Fall Forum in Prescott, Oct. 27.

Scottsdale’s marketing brochure, “Advancing the Strategy, Targeting the Talent” earned an award of merit in the category of Marketing Brochure while the “Broker Appreciation Event: Scottsdale Development Night” earned an award of merit in the Special Event category. The AAED Golden Prospector and Awards of Merit are bestowed by an awards review committee of professional peers in the economic development industry, and due to significant numbers of applications are highly competitive.

“Advancing the Strategy, Targeting the Talent” is Scottsdale’s 2015/16 annual report that details measurable outcomes of Scottsdale’s economic development five-year strategic plan, highlights key projects and showcases economic development activity within the community. The report was fully written and designed in-house by the department and is available digitally online at ChooseScottsdale.com and in print.

The “Broker Appreciation Event: Scottsdale Development Night” is Scottsdale’s annual event designed to bring commercial real estate professionals together to celebrate Scottsdale development activity and strategize on projects in the coming year. In 2017, nearly 90 attendees joined the department for this celebration at the G Collection Auto showroom in Scottsdale, and heard about the programs and services available to them from the city.

Overall, 10 Golden Prospector Awards and seven awards of merit were presented at AAED’s fall forum in Prescott.
